The 9:30 A.M. Mass on Palm Sunday was the first Palm Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Solace to feature the fresh and enchanting voices of our Youth Choir. In commemorating the triumphant entrance of Jesus into the city of Jerusalem, the blessing of the palms took place in the main parking lot between the church and school. While singing All Glory, Laud and Honor, followed by the Youth Choir leading the African chant Sing Hosanna!, the procession of the palms then turned left on West 19th Street, left again on Mermaid Avenue and then proceeded into the church through the main entrance on West 17th Street. From that point the Mass commenced with the opening prayer and first reading.
