Memorial plaque transferred from original church in honor of Father Brophy, founder of Our Lady of Solace parish
This plaque commemorates the restoration of the original bell chimes in 1964 for Catholic Day through the continuous generosity and support of Tilyou family, founders owners of the legendary Steeplechase Park. By the end of 1964, however, Steeplechase closed forever. Fred Trump demolished the park in 1966. The bells were removed in 1989 due to structural damage to the tower and its reduction in size and height by 100 feet.
