The sanctuary was decorated with the brilliant and vibrant colors of spring flowers in anticipation of the Lord’s rising from the dead. During the Mass that followed the Easter Vigil Night Watch of the Resurrection, the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist in First Holy Communion took place. The chant of “Alleluia” was heard for the first time in over a month and the sacramental bells pronounced the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus the Christ for the first time since Wednesday of Holy Week.
