The annual procession commemorating the final steps of Jesus from the judgement by Pilate to His crucifixion, death and burial was greeted by almost summer-like conditions and one of the largest groups of participants in years.  It started at West 37th Street and proceeded eastbound along Mermaid Avenue with the Stations alternating between English and Spanish, and was led by pastor Father Patrick West and parochial vicar Father Giovani Romero.  As can be seen in the pictures, the procession attracted more and more participants as it progressed. The procession ended inside the Shrine Church of Our Lady of Solace with the congregation taking their places for the 3:00 P.M. Good Friday Service.

A special thanks to Barre Flynn, who provided us with these wonderful images in helping us to remember a very special day.  We also give our thanks to the 60th Precinct of the New York City Police Department, for their protection and keeping things safe and organized.
